Hi again, paper piecing friend!
I
have released another bird house in my new backyard series: Bird Feeder
#2! It’s the hummingbird feeder! This
one comes with another free download of one small block (seen above the
hummingbird feeder). This “UpperLeft
Branch” block goes with the full backyard scene-- you’ll understand more if you
have my planning document, see below!
You may be familiar with my National Park
patterns, right now my plan is to release all of my bird houses and feeders
series’ blocks for the full backyard scene by the end of 2025.
How about 3 fun facts?…..
1.
My examples/tests you see here were sewn at 50% -- I’m making a “mini” scene
(not like a huge quilt size but a good wall hanging or lap quilt). Since it is
easier to print a pattern reduced, than to enlarge it, I designed these blocks
simple enough to be shrunken and sewn even smaller, without any pieces being
too tiny or detailed to sew FPP. But they are large enough at 100% to be a
great size too (each block’s width is 12”).

2. My FPP designs of National Parks started with the parks
that I had the privilege of visiting! The first I created was one of my
favorite NP’s: Acadia National Park in Maine.
3. FPP patterns are so fun to make but sometimes we don’t
know what to do with all of our blocks if they’re not becoming another quilt. My favorite use is to hang it and decorate your
space with your art—the easiest way to hang is to secure a block into an
embroidery hoop!
That’s all for today!

*Remember:
I have a free download, upon request, of a file of my
complete houses and feeders planner. It shows all the upcoming blocks, and lets
you plan out which ones you will collect and arrange. Feel free to email me
or comment here to request this planning file for free. 😊
