Bird House #5 of my FPP birdhouses and feeders backyard scene
Hi, paper piecing friend!
I have released another bird house in my new backyard series: Bird House #5! It is a barn-style birdhouse that sits on a post, featuring a Nuthatch! This pattern also comes with the post that the birdhouse sits on. The lower post block includes a flower which can be made as a daisy, or a coneflower.
You may be familiar with my National Park patterns or my many Bird blocks… well right now I am releasing a full scene of backyard birdhouses and feeders through the year. By the way, each pattern comes with a winter version:
Here are this month’s 3 fun facts…
1. The best tip anyone ever told me was to pull off just the paper on the seam allowances that you are sewing together, (after you sew that line to connect two sections). Then when you iron it open, it will have less bulk, being only the fabric and not also paper. This is especially great for tiny sewing, but I now do it on every project. (Plus there is a little less paper to pull off at the end!)
3. This is a baby quilt I made a couple years ago for a friend. I just love fun squares-- nothing complicated. And these fabrics each have a match in the quilt, so it doubles as a matching game when she grows up a little. That’s all for today!

I have a free download, upon request, of a file of my complete houses and feeders planner. It shows all the upcoming blocks, and lets you plan out which ones you will collect and arrange. Feel free to email me or comment here to request this file for free via email.
